The Bukit consists of Pecatu, Ungasan and Uluwatu hotels. Leaving Jimbaran and going up the hill takes you to the 'Bukit' (hill). The southern most tip of Bali, the Bukit is a limestone outcrop rising as much as two hundred metres above sea level in some places. It affords panoramic and dramatic views especially near the coast with cliffs having sheer drops of hundreds of metres to the ocean. Pura Uluwatu, one of the most important and photogenic temples on Bali is at the southern tip of the Bukit. Great surfing and several small 'hidden' beaches. 

Although one of the more arid areas of Bali, the Bukit has cooling ocean breezes most of the year. Hotels and villas are quite spread out ranging from surfer accommodation on the beach to ultra luxurious international chain hotels. The surrounding area is still very much intact with nomadic farmers going about their business tending to their cattle and without the overwhelming commercialization found in other areas.
