Tuban hotels lie just south of Kuta in what was also years ago a small fishing village. Once dubbed 'Tuban' for marketing purposes to separate and distinguish the area as more family friendly than Kuta, the name Tuban has endured. However more recently the area is being referred to as South Kuta. Generally speaking and for our purposes, Tuban is the area bodering the airport along Jl. Wana Segara and running north the length of Jl. Kartika Plaza upto Jl. Bakung Sari.

Tuban whilst initially off to slow start has quickly taken on a life of its own and has now emerged as a major tourist area in its own right. Combining budget 'losmen' and locally owned value for money 3 and 4 star properties as well as a few international chain hotels, among them Holiday Inn, Tuban has a very good mix of hotel accommodations suitable for any type of holiday and budget. That taken together with Water Bom Park, Discovery Mall and a wide selection of restaurants have maintained Tuban's reputation as a family oriented, value for money destination.
