BALI CINTA DAMAI : BALI LOVES PEACE NEW YORK MEMORIAL FOR BALI
November 15, 2002
Balinese Memorial Procession - Former World Trade Center Site
to Battery Park.
On November 15, 2002, hundreds of memorial services will be held
throughout the island of Bali to honor and mourn victims of the
tragic bombing in Kuta on October 12. All of these services will
take the form of a beautiful Hindu ceremony to symbolically cleanse
the land and bring balance to the universe, while helping to free
the spirits of the victims to reenter the cycle of life.
In a sincere and solemn gesture of worldwide solidarity, the Balinese
will be performing this traditional ceremony simultaneously at
the former World Trade Center in New York followed by a Gamelan
Procession to Battery Park.
The bombing in Bali has - much like September 11 - scarred not
only a local community, but touched the people of many nations.
It is the intent of the Balinese to honor those that have passed
at the hands of terrorists and to stand together in solidarity
with those who have lost friends and loved ones throughout the
Gamelan Procession to Battery Park - Open to public and media
