Candidasa Hotels Area
Candidasa, and its hotels, is most often compared to Kuta as Kuta was some 20 years ago. The comparison has some merit - Candidasa is a small village with few inhabitants along the beach with a several, mostly inexpensive, hotels that in earlier days catered to more adventurous tourists looking for a quiet, laid back atmosphere to explore the cultural heritage of Bali.
A road up the east coast has made Candidasa easier to access but still being better than an hour drive from the airport ensures some tranquility. However as more people discover that there is quite a bit to see and do in Candidasa, the area is beginning to develop rapidly with many first class luxury hotels now available. Besides being near many of Bali's top dive spots, Candidasa is close to many of Bali's cultural treasures, i.e. Pura Besakih and Tenganan Village to name just two. For those looking for a holiday off the beaten track, a few days in Candidasa will be a rewarding and relaxing experience.
